Emily came quietly into the house, making sure her shoes were off, her cellphone was silent, and her jewelry was shoved into the pockets of her jeans. Despite that, the lamp in the living room came on as she finished closing the window she climbed through. Whirling around, Emily found herself facing her current roommate, Abigail. The other girl was sitting on the couch with her knees pulled up to her chin and a thick throw wrapped around her.
